Hi everyone,

About a year ago I discovered a fascinating new world of baking - and fell in love with my new hobby. I would spend every weekend in the kitchen trying new recipes until I completely lost track of what I baked and how it tasted. So I decided to start a blog in order to keep record of my cookies and cakes and whatnot. 

I was about to go online and register the name for my new venture (something simple, like ‘cakes and bakes’) when my friend called. “Something simple is not good enough”, she said rather categorically. “After all, you have to think big, don't you? Or so they say.”

And I thought big. Actually, I thought monumental. I will create a legacy of my best bakes for future generations to come. I will change the world with sugar and flour. I will become the baking guru and people will listen to the pearls of my baking wisdom... Yes, that’s it! This will be the name for my blog – ‘Pearls of baking’.

The name reflects so much: all the new tricks you learn in the kitchen, all the recipes you flick through before choosing the best one, and of course the tasty treats you make!

I hope you will love my creations and find them inspiring enough to try them at home.
